INFORMATION

Information Central

Cost and Payment Plan

Camp cost is $485

for kids going into 4th grade through high school graduates.

The non-refundable deposit is the first payment or $121.25 of the full payment. The last day to withdraw and receive a refund (of anything paid besides the non-refundable deposit) is May 14th.

Registration Procedure

We are always trying to make our camp better, using better systems, and making your life as a parent easier. This year, to save costs and to better your experience, we have developed our own camp registration and management system (CRMS), thanks to the exemplary efforts of Bryce Hall. This will help the staff better serve your kids at camp and will help you better through registration. The link to this system will go live on Tuesday (Feb 24th) at 5 pm (CST). Starting then, you will be able to register in the system, set up an account for your family, and have all of your information in the system. Please do this before registration begins.

If you plan to register, please complete the portal sign up, verify your Bell membership status (by emailing Debbie Whitsitt (whitsittd@floridacollege.edu), and setting your calendar to remind you to register at the appropriate time below.

On Friday evening (Feb 27th) at 5 pm (CST), camp registration will begin for Bell members only. We will verify that you are a Bell member before we approve your camper (which charges your portal and completes your registration). If you are not a Bell member, we will reject your camper's application, and you will have to start over during general registration. Please verify that you are a Bell member before you register on Friday, so there are no hiccups for you that evening.

On Saturday morning (Feb 28th) at 8 am (CST), camp registration will open for all people.

Just to state it again, the button below will directly link you to the registration portal starting Tuesday evening. It is on your parent portal that the camp registration will become available on Friday evening. Please only use it on Friday if you are a Bell member.

Reminders for Camp

Camp is an atmosphere that promotes the values and love of Jesus. Each camper is expected to follow the rules of the camp and respect the counselor’s instructions. Only those willing to follow the rules should apply to camp.

Camp Rules

  1. No use of tobacco, any smoked substance, alcohol, or non-prescribed drugs, possession of weapons, or abuse of camp facilities is permitted.

  2. There will be no mixed swimming. Clothing for water activities (i.e., swimming, canoeing, slip ‘n slide, etc.) must meet the dress code, must be dark and not see through, females must wear swimsuits beneath their clothing

  3. Proper relationships between campers must be maintained at all times. Displays of affection must be as is appropriate for “brothers and sisters.”

  4. Campers are not allowed to hang out in the cabins/lodges except at appointed times. We assign a staff member in each cabins/lodges during the day in case a camper needs to be there.

  5. Campers are allowed to bring their own snacks, but will have limited access to them due to rule #4. There will be an abundance of snacks available for purchase at the camp store and The Coffey House. Each camper will have a camp store account that can be loaded at registration, the beginning of camp, or even during camp. Snacks in cabins/lodges must not require refrigeration.

  6. Do not bring expensive jewelry, large amounts of cash, watches, or valuables that could be taken. The rooms are not locked, and there is no way to guarantee the safety of such items. We expect no problems of dishonesty or stealing, but we want to prevent accusations.

  7. No electronic devices of any kind are allowed. Instruments used for the talent show are the exception.

  8. Cars must be locked and keys wlll be collected at the beginning of camp. Campers will not have access to their vehicles during the week unless approved by the directors.

If you feel these rules will cause your child not to enjoy camp, please do not sign them up for camp. We have a waiting list each year and want every camper to fully enjoy what camp has to offer. These rules help create the best experience for every camper and allow us to act harmoniously for the entire week. We lovingly solicit your cooperation.

Cell Phone Policy

  1. We do not allow cell phones or other communication devices at camp. Reasons are explained below.

  2. If you bring a cell phone to camp, then it must remain in the car or be turned in to the counselor (which will be returned at the end of camp).

  3. Please bring a paper Bible because we do not allow phones, even for the Bible app.

  4. We also do not allow phones for alarm clocks or cameras. If those are needed, please bring an actual camera or alarm clock.

Reasons:

Part of providing a spiritually focused week is removing the campers from the stresses and relationships at home that will cause homesickness or distraction. Camp is for getting away from your normal routine to create one amazing week.

Another reason is that we tell our insurance company that we do not allow phones or devices, which decreases our liability due to risks of explicit pictures and other risks associated with phones.

Exceptions:

If a call home is required upon arrival, the call must be made, and then the cell phone put away in the car or given to a counselor. Emergency calls can be made, but only by the director and with the director present. If you need to get in touch with a counselor, you can call the campground directly or contact the director. Please contact the director before camp if you have questions about this policy.

If your camper is found to have violated this rule, they risk being removed from camp for the remainder of the week without refund.

Please, as a parent, do not encourage your child to violate this rule.

Dress Code

  1. Campers are to dress according to the dress code.

    • Shorts must reach the knees or be 9-inch inseams. If a child is "dress-coded" for shorter shorts, we will provide them with camp-branded shorts and the parent will be charged for the price of these shorts ($25).

    • Sleeveless shirts must have a 2" strap and arm holes must not hang open. All shirts must cover cleavage.  No one is allowed to wear muscle shirts or clothes that show the midriff or thighs.

    • Pajamas may only be worn in the cabins/lodges and must meet the dress code. All campers must be completely dressed by dress-code standard when in common spaces.

    • Tight jeans or skinny pants are not allowed. This includes leggings as pants or jeggings.

    • Loose-fitting skirts are allowed only if they come to the kneecap .

    • You must bring at least two pairs of long pants or jeans to wear in case the clothes are considered insufficient.

  2. Campers must wear versatile clothes appropriate for a variety of activities. There will not be time built into the schedule for frequent clothing changes.

  3. Swimwear must be dress-code compliant. Girls should wear swimwear beneath shorts and t-shirts. Swimwear should be dark to prevent transparency when wet. While there is no mixed swimming in the pool, other activities will get campers wet, so we seek to prevent embarrassing situations.

Our emphasis is on the spiritual atmosphere. The dress code standard is not a matter of what is right or wrong, modest or immodest, moral or immoral. Rather, we have chosen a standard that least distracts the campers from more important matters. Our dress code is not a judgment on your own personal opinions, but not following the dress code will be considered a violation of rules, and could result in the camper, unfortunately, being sent home. We must protect the atmosphere of the camp at all costs.
